Boss Reserve by cuttwood is a flavor I always wanted to try because the name sounds kind of cool. That and a fellow PVC admin likes it so my curiosity was piqued. But before we begin the review lets look at the test report by Vapor Shark for diacetyl and other chemicals; the report they released can be seen below.
Since I explained what I think of diacytel and as the report sort of mirrors the Unicorn Milk report I have reproduced my comments from the Unicorn Milk review below.
“What does this mean? Well, clearly the flavor does not have any Diacetyl in it whatsoever but it does contain Acetyl propionyl and Acetoin. My view on the latter two chemicals is very lenient because for 13 years I inhaled Diacetyl in much higher concentrations as a smoker than I would now do as a vaper. I have noticed a ton of health benefits since I started vaping and I vape flavors with diacetyl, AP and acetoin with full awareness that they MIGHT harm me way into the future. Of course, I don’t make it a habit to vape those flavors but if I do get my hands on one then I vape it away. You, on the other hand, are the master of your own life and should do the research I did before coming to your own informed decision.”
*Boss Reserve – ? PG / ? VG – 3 mg*
*RDA with dual coils 0.3 ohm*
*RDTA with dual coils 0.2 ohms*
*RTA with dual coils 0.29 ohms*
*RTA with single Parallel coil 0.3 ohm*
Starting from the single coil rta where I get notes of banana, honey and nuts. That was very unexpected as usually a single coil rta on low watts doesn’t give so many notes at once but here it was actually pleasing and sweet. There was something like graham cracker but I didn’t feel it that much cause it was either too low or mixed well with the nut flavoring. Moving on to the dual coil rtas the flavor becomes more nutty and loses the sweetness , the banana and the honey. Similar graham experience here but over all it was mute compared to the single coil. The rda and rdta performed better with a sweet nutty flavor coming through heavy on the inhale and banana on the exhale. Seeing as how the experience is more or less similar on almost all the setups I feel this flavor offers mostly a nutty banana taste then whatever they promise in the flavor profile.
Right back with the single coil to find that the flavor becomes sweeter at high watts with graham and honey at the forefront. The banana is lower and felt at mostly the exhale but the nutty taste has gone quite into the background. The dual coil Rta also gave a sweeter vape with similarly lighter banana. It was mostly a sweet nutty affair with a very light banana exhale and not the ripe banana taste but just plain banana. The Rda and rdta managed to lower the banana flavor but increased the honey nuttiness which reminded me a lot of the northland nuts and cream but sweeter. It is nuts and cream with bananas; not bad but I wanted more.

Final Thoughts on Boss Reserve
Throat Hit: 7/10 – The flavor while smooth in the RTAs was a little harsh on the RDA and RDTA. Right now my tanks are fitted with standard coils and I am sure with claptons the harshness would increase.
Smell: 8/10 – The smell was tasty but lacking the notes I tasted while vaping. Banana and predominantly nut comes through so if you can imagine northland vapor’s nuts & cream with banana then you can understand the smell of boss reserve.
Flavor Accuracy: 6/10 – “Boss Reserve by Cuttwood blends honey graham cracker cereal, toasty nut clusters, a couple slices of banana, and creamy milk. Each flavor note is clear as day and occurs at different points for a unique experience every single hit!.” Basically northland nuts and cream with banana is the taste you will get. There is no pure milk flavor in there anywhere and the graham cereal is not prominent enough to count. Overall tasty but not matching with the profile from cuttwood.
Go for it: If you want a dessert flavor, If you love nutty flavors, If you liked Northland Nuts and Cream or Whitemist’s Butter Pecan, If you like less sweeter flavors.
I started the review imagining a sort of deep bold flavor and truth be told nuts do fit that description. Often referred to as a earthy tone; nuts are a love it or hate it flavor so there are many that might give this flavor a pass. Add to the fact that this is not one of those high sweet flavors as the nuts keep the sweetness from rising too high. Depending on the setup you use and the coils you can expect the strength of the banana and nuts to change so do keep that in mind. Northland nuts and cream with Nana everyone, enjoy!
Well, there you have it. If you have any feedback then please leave a comment below.
“I was given this flavor by Vapors Loft for the purposes of this review. Hence, I will do my best to give my most unbiased opinion for Boss Reserve by Cuttwood which should be taken for what it is i.e. ‘an opinion’ as taste is subjective. As always, read the warning signs on the labels, keep liquids away from children and practice safe vaping.”
