Artisan Vapor Pakistan is rapidly becoming the vendor with the largest number of retail outlets in Pakistan with its latest addition coming in the form of the Artisan PECHS branch located at Allama Iqbal Road between Khalid Bin Waleed road and Tariq Road.
One great point regarding their stores is the fact that for every one that opens they usually have a grand opening party or at least that is what Artisan Islamabad does since I fail to recall if Artisan Shahbaz or Lahore ever held a grand opening. If you are confused then let me clarify: Artisan shops have different management so Artisan Shahbaz and the Lahore ones operate independently except for those operated directly by the Artisan Islamabad people like Artisan PECHS. However, they do answer to Artisan Islamabad in the end and they do get their stock from them as well.
Anyway I reached Artisan PECHS on time at 6pm to find the store practically empty except for the staff. The emptiness persisted til around 8pm (not counting the random customers who came and went) and, laughing at the unease of Bangash, I explained that in Karachi no one shows up on time so wait for at least 8 pm or so. Lo and Behold, I was proven right when people began showing up around 8 pm and this continued until 10:30pm when the event was just 30 minutes from ending. This would have been terrible at Artisan Shahbaz with its tiny interior but at the big PECHS branch the influx of people did not become a hindrance although without a proper exhaust system the store did have to open the doors on and off to improve visibility during the event.
There were many new vapers attending the event and soon I was called to share some coil building tips, even rebuild two tanks, which I did, as well as share some general vaping related tips related to batteries and whatnot. Then came the cake cutting where I was called upon to do the honors.
Then we began the cloud comp where oddly no one had a dripper/RDA which in my opinion is a must-have for a cloud comp. Nevertheless that didn’t deter the participants from giving it their best. The Artisan Staff and I were judges of the event hence we participated for the heck of it.
Here is a video of the cloud comp which admittedly isn’t the best quality as I had unknowingly selected a lower quality recording mode which coupled with the low visibility because of the excess vapor in the shop resulted in a less than stellar video.
Held behind closed doors, a cloud comp was a wonderful way to bring vapers together especially since there was no danger of non-vapers being inconvenienced or over-enthusiastic and ignorant Police officials swooping down to be an illegal (since vaping isn’t against the law…..yet) pain in the ass.
Artisan Shahbaz has recently confirmed plans of a Artisan branch being opened soon in North Nazimabad or Hyderi. Lets hope it is bigger than the Shahbaz branch and that they hold a opening event like this one too. I also hope that when other vendors in Pakistan open up their retail outlets; they have opening events such as the ones Artisan arranges as they are great opportunities for vapers to meet up.
