VapeHex One Shot Mega Review

VapeHex has been doing the rounds lately with regular postings of people showing off what they bought on the Pakistan Vaping Community. So, when they contacted me to review their One Shot flavors I was more than happy to oblige provided they gave them to me premixed. Due to the nature of the flavors I asked the flavors to be sent in the most common ratio and nicotine strength used by vapers. I received a bunch of flavors all in 3mg and 80Vg / 20PG ratio but couldn’t start reviewing them immediately since the info on the website claims that the flavors need a few days of steeping time. I went ahead and let it steep for a few days over the max steeping time required just to be safe. This review will be a sort of mega vapehex one shot review where I will take the time to note down my observations and score them based on Throat Hit and Flavor Accuracy of all the flavors I received so as to make this review a sort of one stop info page for vape hex one shots. The review will be drafted with the official info of the flavors mentioned first then my review following after.  I will make these observations after vaping each mixed flavor on two rdas, one with a standard coil build and the other with a fancy build, on different wattage levels. At the end of this review I will dive into the topic of DIY i.e. my thoughts on it as well as precautions one must take if choosing this path. So, let us begin!

  • Best Mix Ratio: 20%
  • 100% PG Based
  • 8 Days steeping required

The Pakistani Vaper’s Observations

Throat Hit : 09/10
Flavor Accuracy : 10/10
Notes : The flavor is a very nice blend of all three major players i.e. Papaya, Mango, Passion Fruit. While I would have preferred more oomph in the flavor, it is what it is. Mildly sweet, it starts of with mixed notes of papaya and passion fruit before leaving you with a mango after taste. Fans of fruity flavors should love this combo but bear in mind it does not compare to Malaysian fruit flavors and the citrus has been tempered with cream which is a nice touch indeed.

Mango Tango

Official Info

10ml-30ml

A lovely blend of tangerine and mango deliver a realistic fruit experience. The tender and sweet flesh of a juicy ripe mango is a taste so delightful that you will want to break out and dance. One taste of this e-juice and you won’t even need tango lessons; the deliciousness of this flavor will make your feet and body move in all of the right ways. Does your Mango tango?

  • Imported from UK
  • Brand: E-juice Makers
  • Best Mix Ratio: 11%
  • 100% PG Based
  • 3 to 4 days steeping required

The Pakistani Vaper’s Observations

Throat Hit : 06/10
Flavor Accuracy : 08/10
Notes : A proper citrus hit that brings out strong notes of tangerines but light tones of mango at the exhale. Leaves a sweet aftertaste of mango and tangerines combined. It could have been better but it is good enough to be tasty, I would have wished for a stronger mango to pair up with the tangerine.

Dragon Melon

Vapehex

Official Info

500.001,400.00

10ml-30ml

A delicious blend of Dragon Fruit and Watermelon.

  • Imported from UK
  • Brand: Oneshot Wonder
  • Best Mix Ratio: 14%
  • 100% PG Based
  • 7 to 10 days steeping required

The Pakistani Vaper’s Observations

Throat Hit : 09/10
Flavor Accuracy : 08/10
Notes : Lemme just say, Wow! This is one tasty flavor. I am not a fan of watermelon flavors because I feel that no flavor can replace the actual taste of an ice cold watermelon with salt sprinkled on top. This flavor has made me think twice. The combo does wonders for watermelon coming off as sweet and slightly candy like with a good menthol kick that still leaves a bit of harshness to contend with. Dragonfruit might be there but I confess I dont recall how it tastes since it has been years since I had my last dragonfruit.

Green with Envy

Vapehex

Official Info

500.001,400.00

10ml-30ml

A blend of Absinthe, Blackcurrant and Lime with a Cool Blast Finish. This juice will make you green with envy… Bursting with flavor, this is a must try for all fruit and candy fans. Can you handle the envy?

  • Imported from UK
  • Brand: ChefsVapour Concentrates
  • Best Mix Ratio: 18.5%
  • 100% PG Based
  • 8 Days steeping required

The Pakistani Vaper’s Observations

Throat Hit : 09/10
Flavor Accuracy : 06/10
Notes : The strongest notes are absinthe and blackcurrant who manage to overpower the lime into oblivion or into a state where I cannot taste it. The menthol doesnt do Lime any favors as well and gives the flavor a very cold kick. I did not like the flavor to be honest and it might be because I dont like these particular flavors i.e. absinthe and blackcurrant but that being said Ill give it marks for being almost accurate sans lime.

Claire’s Posh Berry Jelly Concentrate

Vapehex

Official Info

500.001,400.00

10ml-30ml

Juicy mixed berries in a prosecco and elderflower jelly (posh!). It’s a little tart and not too sweet.

  • Imported from UK
  • Brand: Vaping Home Mixers
  • Best Mix Ratio: 12%
  • 100% PG Based
  • 1 Weeks steeping required

The Pakistani Vaper’s Observations

Throat Hit : 08/10
Flavor Accuracy : 08/10
Notes : Harshness exists but not enough to be a deterrent. A very juicy berry like flavor hits you before becoming sweet and with notes of what may be jelly and prosecco. I say that because I have never had or vaped a prosecco/prosecco flavor and Ill bet neither have most of you. Berry fans should love this flavor for its sweet berry like taste and, dare I say it, flowery and jelly like notes.

Chef’s own Virtual Custard, with a rich Strawberry swirl running throughout. This Oneshot concentrate definitely delivers the promised flavour combinations. Tastes like a sweet and moreish custard with strawberry jam stirred through, the ability to indulge your sweet tooth without munching your way through bowls of custard is quite simply, awesome!

  • Imported from UK
  • Brand: ChefsVapour Concentrates
  • Best Mix Ratio: 15% – 20%
  • 100% PG Based
  • 1 Weeks steeping required

The Pakistani Vaper’s Observations

Throat Hit : 08/10
Flavor Accuracy : 10/10
Notes : One of the best strawberry based custards I have had in recent times. The strawberry is thick and sweet, not overly, managing to present itself like strawberry jam without delving into artificial or candy tasting territory. The custard taste is your standard fare, I have had many custards that have nailed the custard taste but rarely a strawberry based one that was this good.

Queen of Puddings

Official Info

500.001,400.00

10ml-30ml

A traditional British Dessert  consisting of a baked, breadcrumb-thickened mixture, spread with blackcurrant jam and topped with meringue.

  • Imported from UK
  • Brand: ChefsVapour Concentrates
  • Best Mix Ratio: 20%
  • 100% PG Based
  • 1 Weeks steeping required

The Pakistani Vaper’s Observations

Throat Hit : 10/10
Flavor Accuracy : 02/10
Notes : This was by far the worst one shot concentrate I have had. There is a hint of blackcurrant but the other notes overwhelm it. The flavor does not taste pleasing to me at all instead it reminds me of a nasty Malaysian dessert flavor I had the misfortune of tasting a year or so back. Maybe you need British taste buds developed over years of consuming this particular dish to even like the flavor or maybe this flavor is just that bad, either way it gets a firm NO from me.

Pebble Cream Bronuts

Official Info

500.001,400.00

10ml-30ml

Sweet fruity pebbles sprinkled on vanilla ice cream slopped onto a glazed doughnut.

  • Imported from UK
  • Brand: DIY or DIE
  • Best Mix Ratio: 15%
  • 100% PG Based
  • 1 Weeks steeping required

The Pakistani Vaper’s Observations

Throat Hit : 06/10
Flavor Accuracy : 06/10
Notes : It tastes like fruity loops, the cereal type flavor. You can taste it clearly with the lime that goes hand in hand with this flavoring. No taste of vanilla or doughnut which I sort of expected because the fruit loop flavor is usually strong enough to dampen or overpower any other flavoring mixed within. At most the rest help in the background but for me it felt like I was vaping a fruit loops cereal variation and not a vanilla ice cream layered donut with fruit pebbles on top.

Chris’ Spiffing Cookies & Cream

Official Info

500.001,400.00

10ml-30ml

Chris’ Spiffing Cookies & Cream, Butter Cookie with Cream. A delicious, rich, and satisfying vape.

  • Imported from UK
  • Brand: ChefsVapour Concentrates
  • Best Mix Ratio: 20%
  • 100% PG Based
  • 2 Weeks steeping required

The Pakistani Vaper’s Observations

Throat Hit : 06/10
Flavor Accuracy : 06/10
Notes : No notes of butter and cookies does not come through proper to net this flavor a place in the cookie category. There is cream but it doesnt taste that great as it should and serves only to further dampen any hint of butter and cookies that the flavor might hold. I have had better cookie flavors during my vaping journey and sadly all of them bear similar levels of harshness for me. It might not be harsh for you however so do make note of that.

Ella’s Gold Rush

Official Info

500.001,400.00

10ml-30ml

Ella’s Gold Rush, a crunchy biscuit centre with a layer of crisped rice smothered in caramel flavored Caramac coating.

  • Imported from UK
  • Brand: Vaping Home Mixers
  • Best Mix Ratio: 15%
  • 100% PG Based
  • 2 Weeks steeping required

The Pakistani Vaper’s Observations

Throat Hit : 09/10
Flavor Accuracy : 04/10
Notes : This reminded me of Open road by Route 66 but the latter was tastier. The dominating flavor is crisped rice. I got no caramel while the biscuit if there is any is too light to help develop the flavor notes. In my opinion this flavor could have been better.

Choco Yum Cake

Official Info

500.001,400.00

10ml-30ml

A yummy chocolate frosted cake blend to tempt your taste buds.

  • Imported from UK
  • Brand: OSDIY Blends
  • Best Mix Ratio: 10% – 12%
  • 100% PG Based
  • 10 Days steeping required

The Pakistani Vaper’s Observations

Throat Hit : 09/10
Flavor Accuracy : 05/10
Notes : The MBV Gwar German Chocolate Beefcake was a tastier chocolate than this one shot flavor. This is slightly sweet yet somewhat bitter at the exhale. It tastes more like cheap dark chocolate sans creaminess. In its defense I can say that chocolate is a near impossible flavour to nail down.

DIY PRECAUTIONS

First and foremost you should know the main danger comes from the handling of Nicotine. It is a a toxic substance i.e. poison. Anyone who extracts, stores and uses nicotine in ejuices takes a considerable risk during the process and if they come into contact with liquid nicotine then depending on the strength and amount of contact the result will either be fatal or nicotine poisoning or an overdose. Highly strong nicotine i.e. 100mg is corrosive as well. Vendors who supply Nicotine should be at the forefront by not selling nicotine to just anyone. It would be a horrible outcome if someone sells someone nicotine without making sure they understand the risks and the requisite knowledge only to find out later that the guy screwed up and got hurt or worse died.

In my opinion one should do DIY only if they have access to a spare room which remains locked and windows sealed shut. Having kids in the house will mean you can never take enough precautions. Havent you read the news reports of kids getting their hands on their father’s gun and accidentally shooting someone? This is one of the reasons why I am not interested in DIY anymore. If someone decides to forgo the aforementioned risk then they should at least attempt it only and only after doing tons of research and have a year’s vaping experience under their belt. The last thing anyone wants is for someone to get injured because of sheer stupidity of not taking adequate precautions. I get why you want to save money vaping but at least be aware of the following:

  • You dont need pure nicotine. 60 mg/ml or below is fine or get VG premixed with your required nicotine strength.
  • Use rubbing/isopropyl alcohol to clean up any spills.
  • Make sure you buy safety goggles, face mask, proper storage containers and latex gloves before you start mixing e-liquid.
  • Make sure you dont have any exposed skin when handling nicotine and always seal the container tight immediately after using.

Another cause of concern I have with DIY is the potential for contamination. Now this is a subjective risk unless the person is handing out his creations to everyone for free or for monetary consideration. The area where you DIY in should be a clean environment, sterile would be best, and you should wear all the safety equipment to make sure you dont contaminate the flavor in any way. Like I said before, shut the windows and make sure the area is cleaned regularly. Dont blend in the kitchen or bathroom for God’s sake unless its only you who vapes the end product and you dont care in which case whatever floats your stubborn boat.

Lastly, there are some flavors I love which I cannot be duplicated via DIY as doing so would require a LOT of testing, time and money, all of which I have none to spare. For example I love Cloud Candy by Whitemist and Thug Juice by MBV and have had the chance of vaping a DIY blend of these flavors made by someone who has been DIYing for longer than I ever will (months or a year maybe); long story short, the clone didnt even come close. I will leave with this, DIY if you cant afford to buy flavors (even on the sale prices) or vape so much per day that it would not be feasible for you to buy so much juice but take the proper precautions at least so you dont screw up vaping for the rest of us by being featured in the news headlines.

The views expressed above are my own and based on my personal experience and knowledge accumulated over the years I have spent vaping. They are to be taken as it is i.e. an opinion and do not represent anything else. I received the flavors premixed for my personal opinion/review and I have done my best without any bias whatsoever. As always remember taste is subjective and please practice safe vaping.

  1. This article has very useful information but some points I have to mention here are;

First, you cannot compare the DIY stuff with the commercial ejuices. Because commercial ejuices are the mixture of some ingredients to enhance ejuice life, flavoring and etc.

In latest research most of the Ejuice manufacturer mix dangerous preservatives in ejuices for enhancing Ejuice life and flavoring and thus directly playing with user’s life.

Therefore, they’re selling Ejuices at higher prices and user only consider the taste without considering the ingredients they get in ejuices. This does not mean that everyone mix harmful chemicals but most of them doing it.

In DIY, you are the creator of your own fusion and taste like if you want more flavor you can mix with higher percentage and if you want balanced flavor so you can mix at provided percentage.

The best part is you know very well about the ingredients you mixing which are authentic registered FDA approved companies which are free from all harmful chemical.

Lastly, I would say DIY stuff is better than pre mixed ejuices available in market, because of quality, reliability and affordability.

    Bottom line is “Love DIYs”

    1. What ejuice manufacturer mixes preservatives in their juice? That is misinformation!

The ejuice formula is universal so everyone makes it the same way. There has never been any need for preservatives since all juice has a 2 year expiry.

You will be surprised to know that FDA has not approved any flavor apart from menthol for inhalation so that point is moot. Also diy blenders don’t have the monopoly on using high quality ingredients. Companies HAVE been doing it for far longer.

DIY has one thing and only one thing going for it since it was born. That is it is cheap. It simply cannot compare to the mixing conditions employed by companies in their labs.
